Punch Autarkh Collective en Roni Horn
On Thursday 17 April, PUNCH. and OFFROAD present Autarkh at De Pont Museum. The musical collective responds to Roni Horn's exhibition, Pair Field, a new installation.
Reinterpretation, rearrangement and recontextualisation
Autarkh, Autarkh III and Autarkh Collective are known for experimental sounds, which they make their first appearance in a museum. Reinterpretation, rearrangement and recontextualisation of their own work are central to the creative process - the collective's response to the reinstallation of Roni Horn's Pair Field (1991).
Mirroring in improvisation
Roni Horn's exhibition features eighteen identical pairs of sculptures made of bronze and steel. Whereas the pairs were previously in separate rooms, they are now in a large room. A reinterpretation, then, where the viewer plays a new game of recognition and perception. Autarkh Collective will respond to this, by also mirroring melodies and patterns in their improvisations. During an artist talk, they will elaborate on their background, their artistic process and the ways they have worked with Roni Horn's themes.
