Theatre company Stormkamer plays The Balance of Existence: the result of a three-year research project on inequality and insecurity of existence in the Netherlands. With this musical and politically inspired theatre performance, director and artistic director Hanna van Mourik Broekman wants to make people aware of their responsibility for problems surrounding inequality. The performance can be seen in Tilburg on Friday 23 May in Schouwburg Concertzaal Tilburg.

Inequality

With The Balance of Existence, a performance that verges on visual art, Storm Room aims to bring together different groups in society. In this theatre performance, Storm Room, inspired by historian Thomas Piketty, shows the absurdity and complexity of inequality. Man is brought into collision with the capitalist system, a system that man himself created and fosters inequality. This is portrayed with a fashion show: the world in which you are seen or invisible, the have's or have not's, powerful or powerless.

Theatre for all

Unfortunately, theatre is not financially accessible to everyone. Therefore, Stormkamer offers the opportunity to receive or donate an admission ticket for The Balance of Existence. If someone cannot afford an admission ticket, Storm Room will provide a ticket free of charge. And people who are well off are invited to donate an admission ticket to someone less well off.
