About the Summerlab
For children who don’t want to sit still during the summer holidays, Ontdekstation is organising the Summer Lab again this year. During these creative and technical afternoons, children can build, test, create and discover. Each session focuses on a new theme, with the emphasis on fun, curiosity and getting hands-on. In the Summer Lab, it’s not about right or wrong. Children are given the space to experiment, work together and bring their own ideas to life. No long lessons or sitting still at desks, but active discovery using materials, tools and challenging tasks. Children can take part in a single afternoon session or attend several activities. Each session offers a new experience and a new theme. After the Summer Lab afternoon session, participants are free to explore at their leisure until 5.00 pm.

- 16 July | Ages 6–9
Woodworking: creating your own artwork
Create your own artwork from wood and discover how you can make something special using simple materials. - 30 July | Ages 6 to 9
Noodle Kart: build and race
Design and build your own kart, then put it through its paces. - 6 August | Ages 9 to 12
Rocket launching
Discover the principles of engineering and launch your own rocket. - 13 August | Ages 9–12
Soldering
Get to know electronics and learn how to use a soldering iron safely. - 20 August | Ages 9–12
Stamp carving: design your own bag
Design a unique stamp, stamp it onto a bag and take home your own handmade design.
