Oisterwijkse Bossen en Vennen

Right near Tilburg you will find the Oisterwijkse Bossen en Vennen, a diverse woodland with atmospheric marshes and hidden patches of heath. Stroll along winding paths past the water and settle down on one of the many benches for a panoramic view.
Picturesque fens and woodpeckers
Dozens of marshes lie tucked away among the low hills, such as the vast Galgeven and the Goorven. Peat was once cut here, but today dragonflies and water birds flit about. Up in the trees, five different species of woodpecker get to work. With a bit of luck, you might spot the shy black woodpecker darting between the trunks.
Starting at the visitor centre
Walking routes and cycling tours through the area start at the visitor centre, including a semi-paved trail suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Right behind it, children can run wild in the OERRR nature playground. For little ones up to the age of four, there is a separate play wood with a sandpit and tree trunks.

Grollegat en Buunderbrug
At the place where Kommerstraat and Koebrugseweg meet in Moerenburg is a fen traditionally known as De Buunder or De Bunder, but mentioned on topographical maps as Grollegat.
Wilhelmina canal
The Wilhelmina Canal, which branches off from the Zuid-Willemsvaart and flows into the Amer River near Geertruidenberg, drains water from the Dommel, the Aa and the Upper Donge.
