The Wilhelmina canal

The Wilhelmina Canal, which branches off from the Zuid-Willemsvaart and flows into the Amer River near Geertruidenberg, drains water from the Dommel, the Aa and the Upper Donge.

Toegankelijkheid en verbinding creëren

In the early twentieth century, the canal was built to make the city of Tilburg more accessible by water and create a connection to the Meuse via Eindhoven. The Wilhelmina Canal has the distinction of being the first Dutch canal to be named after a monarch.
