On Friday 10 May, Tilburg-based dance company Alienated |Performance Art| makes its debut with a full-length performance at Schouwburg Concertzaal Tilburg. At the centre is Machinergy, an intense and stimulating duet by choreographer Kelly Vanneste. In this physical work, Vanneste explores the limits of the human body, at the intersection of strength and vulnerability. An exciting evening for lovers of contemporary dance and innovative performance art, straight from the creative core of Tilburg.

The essence of connection

In Machinergy, two dancers literally and figuratively balance on the intersection of man and machine. On a long, yellow machine belt, they move forward in a rhythm of repetitive, angular movements interspersed with tender touches. The result is a hypnotic duet that makes tangible the tension between autonomy and dependence, friction and synergy. With this first full-length performance, choreographer Kelly Vanneste gives a powerful voice to her generation. In a world where technology increasingly throws us back on ourselves, Alienated |Performance Art| poses an urgent question: how do we stay truly connected? Machinergy shows how collaboration, trust and vulnerability bring us closer together. A physical and visual experience that makes you feel how essential human connection is, especially at a time when individualism seems to be the norm.
