Cellist Ella van Poucke and pianist Severin von Eckardstein will kick off their new international tour in Tilburg with a special recital. The program features Schubert’s lyrical Arpeggione Sonata, Chopin’s Sonata for Cello and Piano, and the world premiere of a new cello sonata by Von Eckardstein himself.
The duo has been collaborating successfully for many years and ranks among the best in international chamber music. Van Poucke is known for her expressive playing and impresses audiences on stages throughout Europe. Von Eckardstein, winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition, is acclaimed for his refined tone and surprising repertoire choices.
A surefire crowd-pleaser is the world premiere of Von Eckardstein’s new sonata, in which the cello and piano challenge each other in tone, expression, and ensemble playing. This is a unique opportunity to be among the first to hear this new work, in a program that beautifully blends tradition and innovation.
