Tilburg kicks off new ice skating season

On Saturday 4 October, the Ireen Wüst Ice Rink in Tilburg will reopen its doors, marking the start of a new skating season full of top-class sport, spectacle and fun on the ice.

A selection from the calendar:

  • Saturday, 4 October: Festive opening of the Ireen Wüst Ice Rink
  • Saturday, 15 November: Tilburg Sprint Cup (long track)
  • Sunday, 7 December: Benelux Cup (short track)
  • Wednesday, 7 January: Tilburg on Ice (free open day with clinics and demonstrations at the Ireen Wüst Ice Rink)
  • Saturday, 10 January: Daikin Marathon Cup 9 (Ireen Wüst Ice Rink)
  • 16 to 18 January 2026: European Short Track Championships
  • 22 to 25 January 2026: Challenge Cup + Dutch Figure Skating Championships

Tilburg: where ice sports thrive

Tilburg shows that it is the place where ice sports come alive. With a varied programme, from free skating afternoons to international championships, there is something for every enthusiast. From 4 October, the Ireen Wüst Ice Rink will be open again and you can enjoy recreational skating, speed skating or free ice hockey.

2026 European Short Track Championships: European spectacle in Tilburg

From 16 to 18 January, Tilburg will welcome Europe's top short track speed skaters to the IJssportcentrum. For three days, the best skaters will compete for the European titles. The European Championships are also the final test for TeamNL before they travel to the Winter Olympics in Milan. Ticket sales start on 11 September.
