The Ostrich
Behind this mural is Pizzabar Rijslust. The owners commissioned the artwork themselves, simply because they liked it. Artist Paul Watty translated their wanderlust into a colourful mural, which appeared on the side wall on Willem II Street in 2021.
About the artist
Paul Watty is an artist from Tilburg who started out with graffiti and is now known for his colourful murals. He co-founded the Hall of Fame, a legal place where young spray painters could practise their skills. Much of his work can be seen around the city. ‘De Bij’ (The Bee), another work by Watty in Tilburg West, was nominated for Best Street Art in the World in 2024. In addition to murals, he also works as a graphic designer for brands such as Heineken, MTV, Red Bull, and football club Willem II. With his cheerful art, he wants to literally give Tilburg a little more colour and connection.

Everyday Still Life
